Optiplex 745 sound problem
Hi there,
Am in the process of setting up an Optiplex 745 for my wife. Have downloaded and installed all the drivers and everything seems sweet, but........ There is no sound.
The desktop speakers are plugged into the rear socket and all I hear is a sound form them that is like a tiny 'earphone' sound. As far as I can see, everything is correctly cehcked, the audio drivers have been reinstalled, but still nothing.
Any assistance greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Rex

Hi Rex,
Few things you need to make sure:
I would also advise you to connect the speakers to the front audio ports and check. You can also check the sound with headphones to make sure the speaker is working fine. The optiplex systems come with internal speakers, it might be possible that the low sound is coming from them.
Please reply for further questions.

Use a USB headset adapter for sound then. Plug and Play No drivers to install.

Hi Dell_Abhishek_B
I also have a optiplex 745. My audio works but it sounds really bad. I'm not interested in using speakers really. I just want to use headphones. When I plug in the headphones I can only hear certain sounds in the audio. Vocals are very low but other sounds can be extremely loud.
I have tried reinstalling the sound drivers. I also tried your suggestions in the above post and everything is as you recommend. Any other suggestions for me? Is this likely a driver issue?
Thanks
