Optiplex 760 not booting
Hi !
I'm working on an Optiplex 760 which don't boot. Power led is steady amber and 2,3 and 4 leds are green and blinking (that code is not on the documentation). There is no display and CPU fan is in continuous full service.
I've no replacement parts so I can't test each hardware part to find the problem.
Any ideas ?
Thanks

Hi,
Thank you for writing to us!I am Jennifer and I work for Dell social media team .
I would request your assistance by trying out these troubleshooting steps,
*)Since the power button is amber I would like to confirm if the power supply unit is working fine ,so behind the system there is tiny black colored button with a small green blub right next to it.Turn on the system from wall socket ,press that black colored button If the green light glows then it is the confirmed power supply unit works fine.
*)Next since you mentioned that 2,3,4 lights are green and blinking kindly disconnect all peripheral devices especially the USB devices and check if the system powers on .
Also kindly send the service tag of the system to me with your contact details via private message so that I can look into the specifications of the system.Hope to hear from you soon.
Have a great day ahead.
Thanks,
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,
Thank you for that quick reply ! Here's the result of your troubleshooting steps :
When the computer is powered on the light on the PSU is green and is still green after pushing the little black button on it. Sounds like it's working fine !
Then, when powered on without any peripheral devices (only power cord), the problem is still the same.
I hope it will help you and I'll send you the service tag soon !
Thanks

Hi,
Thanks again for the mail and also for performing these troubleshooting steps.
Kindly confirm if the system has any additional graphic card as that can also cause the problem .
But if we go by the details of the system I see that there was no additional graphic card shipped with the system hence the system board and the front daughter board could be faulty .
Since the system is out of warranty, I can arrange for a quotation to be sent out to you .Do send me your contact no and your physical address again via private message.Or if you wish you may also get the parts replaced from an external source .
We thank you for your continued interest in Dell Computers. Please revert to this thread if any unresolved query persists in this regard and our team will gladly assist you.
Kindest Regards,
Jennifer
