Optiplex 760 SFF
Hi everyone I just received a 760 SFF and I am wondering what CPUs it can take. It currently uses a Celeron E3300. The service tag of my machine is 3WM854J. I've looked online and came to no conclusion as to what CPU it will actually support.
Thanks in advance for any help given.
P.S does this board only support DDR2 or does it also support DDR3?

Processors are limited by the motherboard model. Celeron cpu's are usually on the budget model board so not suitable for upgrading the processor. Adding memory if it doesn't have the max of 8GB might be better. Remember that the 760 sff is mostly for business users and because of the age of this 2009 model is not a good candidate for upgrades.

Core 2 Quad(possibly Extremes and Xeons?) CPUs should work fine, as long as you update your bios. A Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 is dirt cheap these days and will be a big upgrade to the Celeron. If it doesn't work, you only spent a few dollars.
DDR2 only, you cannot mix RAM.
