PLEASE HELP! CAN'T OPEN FLOPPY DISKS
Please help, I just bought a new Dell Dimension 4600 with Windows XP. I had windows 98 on my old computer and saved some pictures and letters from my son who is in Iraq on 3 1/2 inch floppy and now I can't open the disks on my new system. I have tried everything I can think of and can't figure it out! I don't want to lose my letters, can anyone tell me how to open my floppys so I can save them. Also I am having problems with my outlook express, sometimes it will not download all of my messages from my ISP and I have to go to my ISP mail, delete some of the messages and then it will download messages on outlook express, this is becoming a pain, since it is becoming more of a problem. THANK YOU SO MUCH

It would be nice if you would list what program you have, then someone could give you specific assistance instead of guess or something general. BTW, this is not a hardware issue, it's a user/software issue and the "other software" forum section would have been the most appropriate.
I'm guessing you either have WordPerfect or MS Word, which will not import most MS Works files. You will have to go back to the old PC, save them as ASCII text files and then you should be able to import them into whatever wordprocessor you have.
