Please help (Dimension 4600C)

Hi,

When I plug in my PC, power button LED blinks orange. It won't let me turn on. I opened and checked all cables and all of them are plugged properly. Any ideas what would have went wrong?

Either the power supply or the mainboard is faulty.

If you are plugging in the system and the power button light is on automatically then try pressing and holding the power button for ten seconds until this light goes off. Release and wait a second then press the power button to see if the system will power on. If it does you should go into the BIOS and check the power recovery setting.

Hi there;
I have the same problem with my Dell Dimension 4600C, and I did what you were told. I pressed the button until the power supply turned off. Inmediately after that I pressed again the button and it came on green .... but the computer still doesn't work.

Any help, please??

Hi sergiojuan,

I couldn't make it to work.  Try powering the system by keeping it open, it could be because of loose connections.

Dear friend;
It's the power supply who is acting up. I borrowed one from another Dell computer and my computer works with that one.
Now I have to find out where to buy a power supply for my computer. I you have any idea, please let me know.
Thank you for your prompt answer,

Sergio
