I chked to c if my monitor was the problem by unplugging the graphic card from monitor and it "monitor" worked  fine,I saw the DELLcolor bar, then I connected my puter to my previous g-card and I can see screen , I think my 5500 g-card is defective ... any advice to chk it and see if it is would be appreciated.... I think I need to return it for replacement that is the 5500g-card.
By the way I reinstalled the program because somehow my PC wasnt reading the software and after I connected my monitor to chk and c if it worked but it didnt,,, so i went back to previous g-card again to post message......................

Well from what I can understand from your post, it sounds like your video card is dead. You don't sound like you're old enough to really do anything with the video card itself, so your best bet is to get a new one. A 5500 video card is probably about 30$ right now, at best. Get your self a nice 6600 AGP video card and put that in there.
