Power On/Off
I have my entire PC (Dimension 8200) and other hardware hooked into a power strip that is plugged into the wall. I would like to simply turn on the power strip to boot up all hardware but the desktop computer will not power up without pushing the round power button located on the box.
Are there any options where I can leave the power on at all times so I can control power through the power strip?

Contrary to you I am having a problem shutting off my pc!!
I have been on the phone to ell and they have been very helpful, but can't seem to rectify the problem as yet.
The power button doesn't seem to want to switch off,but when I have shut down windows I have to push the button to boot up again! although it wouldn't switch off in the first place!
Interesting don't you think, good luck, I hope you find a solution.

MountainShadows,
Go into your BIOS setup program (press the F2 key immediately after starting your system) and experiment with changing the AC Power Recovery settings until you find a setting that does what you want.
issy0503,
It is difficult to answer your question without knowing which model computer you have and which version of Windows you have.

I tried setting the Power Recovery feature to: ON
This did not work.
I have Dimension 8200 Desktop running XP Home Ed.
Any other suggestions?

Did you try the "Last" option?
