power supply

Question

I picked up an old power supply model HP-233SS brand Dell
Will this work on an optiplex gxa or do i have to make a minor correction on the wiring.

I wouldnt try it, power supplys are very cheap to come by from Dell, just the fact that all motherboards for OptiPlex systems have different volatges going to the motherboard, i wouldnt recommend it at all.   Although most of the compents in the systems are failry non-proprietary, motherboards/powersupplys are made in a way to work well hand in hand (for troubleshooting purposes).

Why do you say that. All wires to the 10 pin connector are color coded. red is +5 v blue is -12v. I can convert that power supply in 10 minutes and save myself $75 i believe i figured it out
