Precision T3500 Hyper-V crashes

At lease someone could have replied that the E5540 is ofcourse quad core and not dual core....

I have the same problem with 20 x dell Precision t3500 , actually ~ 35 
workstations , because dell technicians have exchanged ~15 workstations , but 
new ones have absolutely the same problem - they crash after random 
period of time .

And it is not the only Linux specific , I have got blue screen on 
windows xp at least 3 times also , on xp it looks like

This crash happens more often , during several months all 20 workstation 
crashed with such messages , some of them more than 10 times ....

I had been running memtest for several days - no memory errors , also no 
problems showed embedded dell tests .

Also we had been stressing this workstations for several days with very 
high load , they look rock stable , but at some point you just open new 
emacs and system is stuck with memory error message after reboot .

I already got 2 emails from companies who run into the same trouble , 
so I am not alone ...
Dell should fix that urgently ....

As I see a lot of time had gone since you posted thit message , 
Can you please inform me if you have found any solution ?

Hi,

I don't have a solution yet. I'm running my server on a T3400 for monts now, and it's rock solid. I'm using the 3500 's as desktops now, and my own dekstop is always on, also running solid for months now (on Windows 7). It's only when hardware virtualization is enabled in combination with Hyper-V on a T3500 that is crashes.

In your case, maybe you can try to disable hardware virualization in the bios.

I think that will help. I downloaded the hotfix, but I wll test it at a later moment. I'm currently running Hyper-V on a T3400, but will move back to the T3500 if this works. I will report back here, but it might take some time.
