Precision T7500 Memory Upgrade
I'm planning to upgrade Precision T7500 (dual Six Core Processor, X5660) memory to 60Gb with following configuration:
4 - 4 - 4 / 8 - 8 - 8 - 8 - 8 - 8
3 x 4Gb Crucial DDR3 1333 PC3-10600 Dual Rank Registered ECC Sticks (http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid=595AED64A5CA7304)
6 x 8GB Crucial DDR3 1333 PC3-10600 Dual Rank Registered ECC Sticks (http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid=F45BC5B8A5CA7304)
Should I have any issues?
Also may decide to increase to add further 12Gb in 4Gb sticks to populate all the slots (4 - 4 - 4 - 4 - 4 - 4 / 8 - 8 - 8 - 8 - 8 - 8) - this configuration ok?
Thanks much in advance for any advice!

Hi Expat1966,
The Crucial site seems to allow for this, so I don't see why not. But let me see if one of my buddies will chime in on the question.

Hi Osprey:
Thx for the reply. I actually configured through the Crucial site and came up with that combo, but wanted to double check with some experts before I went ahead and laid down the money.
Appreciate the assistance.

Just a quick question. My system has 1 2gb ram chip. Can i add an 8 gb chip and keep the 2 gb chip. Or does the ram need to be matched?

Ram is usually needed in 2's or 3's like the T3500 tri channel ram.
And You cant mix Ranks. QR is Quad Rank. Memory Riser is on the 2nd CPU module.
