Problem When Replacing On-Board Video Card
Hi,
I tried to replace the on-board video card with a GeForce 8500GT -- PCIe (Ins 530 with Vista). After the card was installed, it could display in basic mode. However, after I installed the driver (tried one version coming from the card, and one version downloaded from NVIDIA) and reboot the system, I got a blue screen with "Windows has detected error ..." and the system automatically restarted again and again. I have to press the power button to shut it off. I cheked the BIOS and could not find anything I can change for this issue. I tried two cards and got the same problem.
Has anyone had this problem before? Thanks.

Never had this issue.
Just a couple of basic things that may help,
-did you uninstall the old driver?
-Did you try removing the card and reseating it? Sometimes the card is not pushed in far enough.
-Did you verify that the onboard graphics are turned off?
I would check all of the above first and if all else fails contact the vendor as it is always possible that you may have received a defective GPU.

Yeah, make sure everything is connected securely. If that doesn't help, you might try going back to onboard video, then load up Windows and run a System Restore back to before you installed the card. There may have been some kind of unusual error during installation. After restoring it to its old settings, try starting over from the beginning.
Definitely a weird problem though.
