Can you try it in a different slot, even if you have to temporarily remove another PCI card?
Some PCI cards require you to install the drivers before you physically install the card in a slot. Did you follow installation instructions that came with it?

The card comes with a CD. That should have the drivers on it. Put it in the CD drive and normally the setup program will start up and lead your through the installation.

The instructions really indicate that you don't need any drivers?

I think that you might need to take this to Geek Squad (or whatever is near you). It is too difficult for me to help this way. It should be easy to figure out for someone who can work at your machine.
