Radeon 800XT

Question

I Just bought the following system from Dell:

Pentium 4 3.4GHZ Extreme Edition
2 gig ram
148 GB RAID 10K RPM Drives
RADEON 800XT VID CARD

So far Ive noticed..

A complete system lockup playing Age Of Empires

My mouse moves and pops up all over the place under normal computer operations.

I tried to install the ATI graphics drivers and my screen goes flashes black non stop. I reloaded DELLS drivers.

Dells drivers do not give you the temperature of the vid card.

I have played DOOM3 and have had no problems with that.

Jus to tell ya that your card is Ati x800xt,as mine...well,ati's drivers are not the best,the other way round,the 4.10 latest drivers are so bad...try omega drivers,I don't know if they let you monitore the temps but they're the best and let overclocking...http://www.omegadrivers.net . Thats the web. Go for them,since they are  a way better than ati drivers...around this month ati should release 4.11 drivers which may be good drivers,and next month the 4.12 ones...omega will improve them as always...hey and congrats for that system...why don't you go now that you have a good system with a better strategy game kinda age of empires such as empires?? That's a real good game...or age of mithology...

Thanks for the driver link. I keep hearing omega here, but didnt have a vclue what people meant. Age of Empires is just a game ive played for about 7 years. Thanks for your help.

Having the same symptoms with my Radeon x800SE with my new Dimension XPS Gen3, should I call Dell up to ask for a replacement video card? cuz when I play games like Rollercoaster Tycoon (the original), Halo and Star Wars KOTOR, the game will hang, or the monitor will go into sleep mode...I know for a fact that even the simplest system can run the original Rollercoaster Tycoon, so somethings wrong here....
