RAM upgrade question.
Hi. I want to upgrade my RAM memory from 4gb DDR3 to 24 GB ( 3 x 8GB) DDR3
Dell T5500 Workstation with two intel E 5620 processors. I looked at processor specification and it says it only supports Ram memory with 800 and 1066 Mhz.
Now the problem is that i can`t find good memory at 1066 Mhz here in Romania (kingston doesn`t produce this type of memory anymore) so the question is :
Can I buy 1333 mhz memory and underclock it at 1066 mhz?

Hi Mariusliviu,
Crucial shows DDR3-1333 as an option for this system, so the answer is yes.
Memory Type: DDR3 PC3-10600, DDR3 PC3-8500, DDR3 PC3-12800, DDR3 (ECC)
Maximum Memory: 72GB
Slots: 6
Each memory slot can hold DDR3 PC3-10600, DDR3 PC3-8500, DDR3 PC3-12800 with a maximum of 24GB kit (8GBx3) per slot.*
