Random Black Screens bump
once more, ill keep doing this because i spent a lot on this computer, Iv been having this problem for some time lately. At first i thought it was a over heating problem with the 8800 gtx which i know they sometimes have and it being summer time, so i cleaned out my computer case of all the dust and cat hair and that seemed to work for a couple of weeks then it came back. Now i looked in the case and cleaned it out and still happens. Now what happends after i play a game like css which isnt realy resource hungry but after i close the game shortly after words i start a new game and a whole lot of little white pixels start popping up and going away realy fast, both in game and on the desk top, and then a little while after words just randomly my screen go black for a second or two and goes back to normal. i can still hear task in the back ground i just cant see them. just restarting my computer fixes this, but im worried in the long run that there may be more complex problems. right now my computer sepcs are a e6750, 2 gigs and my 8800 gtx nvidia card, the computers a dell xps 720. Thanks

You are not alone. I've been back and forth with Dell Support over the past 10 months to get a similar issue corrected. I have the 8800GT card in my XPS 720 running XP; my system also has the Dominator memory. I get bad textures, corrupt desktop redraws, etc. and this is with a fresh Windows install and only the Dell graphics driver installed. CPU and GPU temps are well within normal.
Dell has replaced 5 motherboards (2 were DOA), 3 graphics cards, memory twice, and the power supply. After having the case escalated to level three support and being told that they were 85% sure a different revision motherboard would fix the problem (it did not), they finally agreed to replace the entire system. The refurbished replacement arrived and worked for a bit over a week before the graphics issues came back. Since that time, they have replaced the memory and graphics card without fixing the problem. At this point, I am fighting to either get a refund or give me full credit towards a XPS 730.

Revert all overclock settings to our Factory Defaults. Reinstall the Dell video card driver rather than using the retail video card driver. Any difference? If not, contact Support and get the video card replaced.
