What can I do to read floppy discs that were saved from a windows millennium computer. I now have a dimension 5100 and it will not allow me to read the disc.
Floppy disks are.. floppy disks. The same format used on ME is used on all computers, 95, 98, 2000, ME, XP, linux, etc. If you can't read that disk on ANY computer, chances are it is be corrupt. All floppies use the FAT16 file system, iirc.
There is a catch, though. A floppy disk that is unreadable on most computers may still be readable on the original computer that created it - but it's a long shot.

Nothing. If they can't be read, then it's potentially due to your storing them in some software format that the new computer doesn't understand.
When you browse, can you see the files on it? If so, what file type are they?
Windows XP is notoriusly bad when it comes to handling floppy disks created/written on other systems. Your best solution is to read the disks on an ME box, copy to CD or tranfer via network or email attachment to get them on the new system.
(Conspiracy notice: It's all part of the Wintel plan to wean us off old hardware - floppy, parallel ports, andl lately PS/2 connections.)
