Reformat Hard Drive

I have searched this site and have attempted to restore the computer to the Day 1 condition as though it just came out of the box.  I have two Dell computers.  The one I'm working to reformat is a Dimension 2100.  I know it's a simple process, but using the purple and white disk for XP that came with the computer.  I went through the directions on Paul Thurrott's website, though not all of the options came up when I attempted to redo the computer.  The end result was unsuccessful.  All it ended up doing was adding another user.

Can anyone assist me with the proper way to do the reformat for this particular model?  Thanks so much.  :)

Thanks.  I did look at your site previously too.  I *think* I figured out what I did wrong the first time.   :)

Two points: 1) Make sure you boot to the CD and 2) During Install, remove all partitions, make a new one, format it, and then install.
