Removing CPU Heatsink?

Anyone help here. I have a dell dimension 8300 p4 3.4ghz and im trying to remove the heatsink so i can replace it. But i have no idea how u get it off. In the process of this on friday and nearly cut the tips of 4 fingers off cos the heatsink is razor sharp, i wish i had photo availble, but im hoping someone might know which one im on about. It has two long green plastic clip things on each side of the heatsink, and two copper pipes come out of the heatsink itself, looks like an engine. Can someone maybe tell me how to remove without cutting my fingers off, lol thanks SasArchiver

Nice though, but a pain of going to upgrade. When i got the heatsink off, the 478chip was stuck onto the bottom, i couldnt get it free from the heatsink lol after twisting and turning the chip came off, does dell use super-glue paste lol ....thx anyways, gr8 help SasArchiver
