Replace video card questions?
I have a Dimension XPS T500 w/ Win98se and my video card (original) is a 16MB ATI Rage 126 Pro.
This card is failing (screen breaks up into horozontal lines) and I know it isn't the monitor because I just replaced my old one for a new flat screen and am having same problem.
I do not do gaming and have no particular need for a very high powered card, and would be satisfied with a replacement that is generally the same as what I have or a little better.
My problem is that I'm a bit confused as to which of the available video cards will fit into my computer? As an example, I think I have a PCI slot, but am not certain? Also, If I now have a 16M card, would a 32 MB replacement work properly, or is that too much?
Can anyone tell me specifically what specs I need to consider in purchasing a reasonably inexpensive replacement video card?
Thank you!

the problem ur running into is all the video cards currently on store shelves are light years above ur old card and u just can't buy anything remotely close to it at places such as compusa, bestbuy, etc. anymore.
my suggestion is goto www.pricewatch.com and look for a tnt2 video card. they can be had for under $20. i had one years ago and it served me well. keep in mind when u buy from vendors listed in pricewatch, not all of them are as easy to deal with as compusa, etc.al. if u run into problems.
u can also check ebay for ur old card if u want to stick w/ what u know.
