Restore using factory image did not work

I have an XPS 8300 with Windows 7 Professional 64 bit purchased Dec 2011. A few days ago I began seeing the blue error screen. It got progressively worse until it started to pop up just minutes after booting up my computer. I decided to restore the computer back to factor settings using the factory image. I followed all the instructions and it looked like the restore completed successfully. However, when I clicked restart, Windows wil now not start properly. As windows tries to start a blue error screen pops up for one second and then I get a screen for Windows Error Recovey. I run Windows Error Recovey but it does not come up with anything. I don't know what to do at this point.

I also tried to restore my computer using a set of recovery disks I created when I received the computer. That is not working at all. The system is not recognizing any image store on these DVD's.

Have you ran the diagnostics. Power down the system and press F12 at the Dell BIOS screen, run the diagnostics with any extended tests.
