Second processor on a Precision 470 nto seen by Vista

Question

Anybody else experiencing this issue?  For the life of me, I cant find anything on Microsoft's site on this.    I did a clean install of Home Premium on my 470.  It has 2 Xeon processors but only one is showing up.  My Base score for a 3.2 Xeon was 4.0  which seemed a bit to low.  No Wonder!  it only sees one.

As far as I know home premium only support one CPU socket and you are installing on a dual socket system. The cores do not matter for MS licensing but sockets do.

Thanks for the info!  I finally figured that out.  I cant seem to find it mentioned anywhere on Microsofts site though.  Even the spec sheets dont mention it.  I found it in some product reviews around the web.   Well looks liek I get to try out the Windows Anytime upgrade option and shell out some more money :-)

Good point!!!  I have to check out how the procedure works.  I did see 2 ways to do it, one is a download, and the other is a Anytime Upgrade disk they actually send you.  It appears to be files available for download just on a CD.  I guess I will see tonight :-)

I would not do that since you don't get a disk unless you get a .iso you can burn to DVD first.
