COM5 usually happens when trying to set up other COM devices such as modems, com 1-2-3 are the best bets, com5 will work in certain cases with laptops from the factory.. you may want to disable the SERIAL PORT in the BIOS to get your COM device into COM 1 or 2.. please give us a call for more info than this.
