Show desktop icon
I want the show desktop icon to appear on the task bar. This is the shortcut that takes you back to view your desktop if you have it cluttered with multiple programs running. Windows 98 came with it already there but I can't find it in XP.

Right click on your task bar, left click "Toolbars", and make sure there's no check mark next to, "Lock toolbar".
Then make sure there is a check mark next to "Quick Launch". If there's no "show desktop" icon, right click in the "quick launch" area and see if you can find a list of shortcuts there somewhere.
I believe that's how I did it, but again not on an XP machine right now so i'm not certain.

The above will probably work but if there is no icon.)
Try this:
It's a scf file extension,
search / all files / .scf / right click on Show Desktop icon / select create
shortcut to desktop / then drag to quick launch.
