SLOW BOOT 8300

I just bought this P-4  2.6 8300, To my horror it took almost 4 to 5 mins to boot up, my old xp1600 amd, knocked spots off it, so i bought two sticks of P.N.Y Techonolgies 256 at 400hz non ecc, from e.buyer uk, put them into computer, and hey presto it boots up in 30 to 40 seconds, all my applications work like lighting also, i am so happy that i am going to buy another two sticks of this ram ,i hope this is of use .

john1470, you seem to have more patience then myself, i wouldve sent the system back. it seems rather ridiculous that you had to go and buy more ram to have your 8300 to boot in less than 4-5 min. even if it had only 256mb it shouldnt have taken that long. dell used to have a buy back program where you could sell parts back, call dell and see if they will buy your old ram off you. its not as if this is a 2400 series where cutting corners would seem somewhat more acceptable. you don't seem frustrated enough, im frustrated for you.
