SoundMax conflicts?

Hi to all,

*edit- A helpful member on the gaming boards has now assisted with this 'problem'! Thnx for any input nontheless!*

The popular game ive purchased has a readme with this in it:

------------
OTHER ISSUES
- DELL 8400 Systems
 There is an issue, unrelated to Battlefield 2, that occurs on DELL
 8400 Systems; when the onboard SoundMAX audio is enabled and there is
 a Sound Blaster Live 24-bit sound card (Model 0401) installed.
 A work-around for this issue is to disable the SoundMAX audio in your
 computers BIOS.
------------

As a completely unadvanced user i would be very grateful for even the briefest of simple explanations here! I honestly have no idea;
How exactly is this fix done?
Will the so-called 'work-around' affect my other activities?
My sound card drivers etc are unaltered from factory as far as i know.

Any help muchly appreciated,

Sic0

I take it you do have the secondary sound card installed?  If so then press F2 at the dell screen and disable the integrated audio.
