Sped Up Audio

Question

I just installed a Firewire 410 on my computer, along with updating all my drivers. Now, all the audio that comes from my computer, no matter what the program, comes out sped up, sounding like Alvin and The Chipmunks are singing it.   Anybody know how to fix this????

A Dell moderator reported, several years ago, that if the generic Windows sound drivers, instead of the Dell sound drivers were used that could cause the speeded up audio problem.  Dell's suggestion, at the time, was to reinstall the Dell sound drivers.  It may still be applicable today.

If you don't have the sound drivers for your specific model, click on Technical Support at the top of this page and then follow the prompts to access the downloads for your machine.  I think there is an option to key in your service tag number and search on that.
