System Restarts when installing drivers

Question

Currently I have the sound disabled in the BIOS. When I enable it, the computer reboots while loading Windows 98. I have tried running safemode and uninstalling the drivers, then restart in normal mode, windows is looking for new hardware and finds the sound card the system once again restarts.

Does anyone have any suggestions to pervent this so I can get the sound working?

You may want to try removing all cards from your system and update your Bios. Install your soundcard successfully and put back the cards.
