System Restore and Norton's

Question

I did a System Restore early on when we first got the computer and I am pretty sure we did not disable the anti-virus first.
It doesn't seem that we've had any problems because of this. I was just wondering what could happen, as far as problems, since I've seen it mentioned that you should disable NAV before doing a System Restore.
The ironic thing is I was advised by Dell Tech to do the Restore. (Perhaps they assumed I would disable NAV?) Thanks, Paul

You got lucky. A few other people have, too. Count yourself among the exceptions to the rule, and to be on the safe side, don't press your luck by trying it again. If the restore worked, and if everything appears to be functioning now, you shouldn't have any problems related to the issue. If you had gotten a "restore failed" message, NAV could very well have been the reason.
