Thermal Shutdown

Question

My dimension 2400 just shutdown randomly, when I restarted it, it said, something like "Thermal shutdown, f1 to contunue f2 to run diagnostics(or something like that). What does this mean, I mean I only had the computer on for 30 min maybe.

0rb    Check that the case fan is working, plus open the case, to check if the heatsink is loose.   If the fan is running and the heatsink is firmly attached to the processor, then make certain that both the fan and inside of the case is clean of any dust and debris buildup   Bev.
