"this page cannot be displayed"

There are 2 sites I'm trying to get in to, to order their products: I go just so far, and then I get "this page cannot be displayed"....I've tried the "refresh" and checking the other items as instructed....any suggestions???

Thanks for your help!

the web site or page is having trouble not you.
Try again later.

Have you installed anything or changed any settings since the last time you were there? Some sites that let you order things are secure and certain things must be enabled. If you are using IE read the 'page cannot be displayed' that comes up carefully.
Sometimes this may just mean that the site is too busy and the browser timed out.

Many secure sites will not funtion correctly unless you have "cookies enabled" in your browser. Some sites will respond with the message that "you have cookies disabled, please enable cookies to view this site", others will not, leaving it up to you to guess what the problem is.

Hi

I've tried to order from 4 different sites, over and over. I checked the settings, all appear to be correct...as soon as I go to "checkout" I get the error page. I made a successful order to one of these sites several weeks ago, and I believe the only change I made since then was to download a fresh copy of Microsofts Virtual Machine [which I did because I couldn't view Denny's incredible signatures!] but don't know if this caused my current problem, don't believe it should have.

Again, thanks for help!

Hi! Thanks for your reply!

Looks like I don't have the internet explorer repair tool....also, tried to run SCANREG /RESTORE, and it wouldn't go.......date would have been too far back anyway, but thought I'd give it a try. More ideas appreciated! If worse comes to worse, do I call Dell Software or Dellnet?

Thanks!!

This message has become my nightmare.  Cannot open any secure sites.  Can open amazon, usbank etc. but it will not let me go to my personal account.  I tried going to help found my update version to be 0.  Tried to update various IE such as Explorer 5 and Netscape 7.1.  It will not allow me to do anything.  Help!
