Toshiba Digital Camera
Over the last six weeks, I was able to determine the following: The Toshiba MD70 camera would connect through the USB connector and download to any computer but a Dell Dimension 8100. Further, it made no difference what OS was running on the Dimension 8100, Windows ME or Windows 2000.
I reported this to Toshiba and received the following reply:
Thank you for contacting the Toshiba Imaging Systems Division Technical
Support.
"We are aware that Dell is experiencing difficulties with their 8100
series computer and USB products. We have notified Dell Corp. of the
issues and are currently awaiting a resolution from their engineers.
Unfortunately at this time, the only way to upload your images to the
8100 Series Dell computer is to use a FlashPath adapter. FlashPath
Adapters can be purchased at local authorized Toshiba retailers ....."
If Dell has a solution, or when it has a solution, I would like to be informed.

You will have better luck contacting a Tech in the Customer Service - General conference if you want to correspond online.
Thanks for posting the information. That's not good news.

I'd rather that you call tech support. I do not really want to get involved in the chain of events as a middle-man with Dell.
