Trouble with the Task Manager

Sounds like you've got some delicious spyware program or virus keeping you from opening task manager. Try downloading and running Ad-aware Personal and the latest definitions for it and your virus program. Then restart and enter Safe Mode. Pushing F8 during boot should get you there. Then run a virus scan and adware scan and delete everything you find. That should help clear you up.

Thanks for the response. I will try it. I installed webroot Spy Sweeper about two weeks ago and everything was working fine until I shut down the computer the first time after install. When I turned the computer back on, windows XP would not load so I had to restart in safe mode and remove spy sweeper. Once Spy Sweeper was gone, everything was fine. I will try installing it again though. thanks

task manager is a evil program, you should download this program free under 200k

its recommended by microsoft as the program to use if you use any other than task manager
