Trouble with your computer?
I will NEVER buy a Dell Vista, or any other Dell product again! I have had nothing but trouble with my computer, and when I contacted Tech support, not only did they wait until my Warranty ran out before getting back to me, they state they are in Texas, USA, but every time I called, their tech support, sales, and all other departments are in INDIA!!! When I asked for their corporate office number in Texas, THEY DIDN'T EVEN HAVE IT!!! In the economic state our country, the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, you would think all their offices would be in this Country, boosting our economy, and giving these Tech and Sales jobs to AMERICANS. Not only will I never buy from them again, I will tell every relative and friend, NOT to buy a DELL product, who don't care about giving Americans jobs, but prefer to save money, and stuff their pockets with profits, by sending these jobs to a different Country!!! How dare they claim TEXAS, USA !!! I implore all that read this to not buy their products, and only by AMERICAN !!!! Be a true patriot, please!

Duplicate Rant. Also posted in Desktop General Hardware section.
Dell's HQ is Round Rock Texas (an Austin suburb). Their call centers are in India, as are almost every other corporation including other PC companies to Microsoft to many banks, cable companies, utilities, etc. What is not in India is in the Phillipines.
If you only want to "buy American" you are lost as very little is made in the US. Nearly everything is made somewhere else, or the components are all made somewhere else.

HMM, Fireberd in AUDIO
Do you work for Dell in AUDIO? Even if it's not Dell Audio, you should count your blessings you still have a job. Of course you are going to back them up, you don't want to loose your job, like THOUSANDS of Americans have !!! You say if I want US based support, I'll pay extra for it. Exactly, you get what you pay for, and I would prefer to pay a little extra for Quality support, care, and quality products, then the low standard, run-around I got from dealing with another Country, who didn't have a clue how to help me with my *** Dell Computer!! YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR, and I would rather get quality American service and products, and pay that extra, then what I got from Dell! Enjoy your job while you can, because you may be the next to go !!!! At least I hope so.

I agree!! I have bought 2 desktops and 2 laptops in the last 5 years but i will not buy another from Dell!!!! My last laptop i did not have but barely a month and it quit working. With all the warranties that i purchased i had to purchase more???????!!!!! I am not a computer lit person but i am not stupid either. I have been hung up by two INDIA people because i could not understand them. The last techsupport worked with me 5 minutes before he sent me to another person that i would be charged for!!!!! i questioned this and he hung up on me!!! I called back and the next tech support fixed my computer without a charge. Is this a GIMMICK????? I do not feel that Dell is being legit and I have lost my confidence in their products and service.

I don't work for Dell, I'm a user just like you are. Actually, I don't work for anyone as I'm retired.

Yes, and you are doing a fantastic job of symbolizing the great American education system. You can't even spell.

Interestingly, there seems to be a connection between many dell rants and our education system.... So here is my own rant....
I don't see it as the system being flawed as much as the entitlement attitude that many people have. No one wants to work (or make their kids work) for anything. The attitude that something went wrong so it is Dell's fault is also the attitude that parents use with their kids' schooling. If my kid gets a poor education, it is the fault of the system.
I think our public schools do a good job of providing the tools to get an education, just as Dell does an acceptable job of providing a reasonable product and support for it. Some people just don't want to work to get success, either in a consumer product or their own kids....
Okay... Rant done....
