<ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell>   User Guide for that 5150 system

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim5150/en/sm/parts0.htm#wp1366406   How to install a hard drive

1.  You can upgrade the ram to 2 gb....

2.  The video card is in need of an upgrade since what you have is low ended.  A 7600 GT PCI-Express card is under $200 and a good mid level card to have

3.  CPU of 3 ghz is also fine for what you need it for.  No real need to upgrade this and upgrading this will not give you that much of a punch.

4.  You can upgrade this, add another hard drive if you wish or just burn to CD or DVD some of the stuff, and save some space.

Dim 4400
2.6 Ghz 400 FSB
1 Gb 2100 DDR memory
Windows XP Home
17 inch 1703 FP monitor
XFX 7800 GS O/C AGP ( 91.31 driver )
48x CDRW
16x DVD-R
410 watt ( PcPower&Cooling )
PC-Cillon Internet Security

Hi

And thanks for your input. If I install the hard drive out of my dimension 4700 and put it into my dimension 5150 will I need to take off the operating system on the 4700 drive or do I just leave it on.

if I connect the 2 comps using a cross over cable will the main 5150 comp try to boot from the 4700

Thanks for any help

All I am trying to do is cut down on screens and keyboards really just to give me more space
