Upgrade video card

Question

I have a Dimension 8400 with a 128MB PCI Expressx16 ATI Radeon x300 SE video card. My monitor is a 1702FP. I need a better video card for a flight simulator program. What would be the best card that will work with my system?

You could also move up to X800GT, 6800, X800GTO in midrange video cards. Your system can take a handful of highend cards too.

Most manufacturers are making the 6600 GT in both AGP and PCI-Express. Since you and I both have the 8400, we would be ordering PCI-Express cards as replacements.

On the high end, you want the GeForce 6800 GT, GeForce 7800 GT, or Radeon X850XT.

The x850 line is a rip off now, as it costs about the same as a superior Geforce 7800GT (personally, I'd go for a 7800GT if you're getting anywhere near the $300 mark-might as well go all the way to $350 or whatever).
