USB Keyboard cursor disappears when typing

Question

As the title says! I have to click back on the workspace when it dissapears to get it back! Very consistant problem! Tried different USB port! 9100

Fixed that and the voice recogntion! However it still does it! As I was typing this the ability to show type disappears at random! I then click on the space again and everything is ok! Strange! It is as though an esc key or something is throwing the cursor and type out of the work space!

Maybe its the alt key? No! diojanqwertyuiooplkjhgfdsazxcvbnm,./12345567678890-= Got to be something! I am not hitting the alt key!   Is it possible a combo of key strokes could cause this? Message Edited by etp2 on 12-18-2005 06:40 PM

Open the Mouse control panel and click on Pointer Options tab. See if the box 'hide mouse pointer when typing' is checked. Ron

Don't understand your last post. Have you scanned with Spybot, Norton, and Adaware all with the latest updates for malware on your system?

If it's clean, you might want to run a system file check.
click start>run
type in: sfc /scannow
(space between sfc and /)
click OK

sfc will replace any damaged/missing XP files. It may ask for your XP CD.

Thats ok! I did not understand my last post either! yes, my spybot and nortan are good and I have done a scan several times.

yes! I did not watch it all the way, but no msgs flashed up so I assume everthing went ok! Several at work said that Nortan Internet security was the problem

Unfortunately, sfc provides no indication that it did anything, good or bad. Open the Event Viewer (under Administrative tools on Start menu), click on System and look in the right panel for listings "Windows File Protection" just on the date you ran sfc. There should be at least 2 of them. Open each one. One should say "started", and the other one, "stopped". If there are any other entries for Windows File Protection, write down the error messages so you can to deal with them manually.

If Norton is the real issue, suggest you look on their website for possible solutions to the problem. You may have to uninstall and reinstall Norton.

Norton internet security is at least part of the problem! My connections have greatly increased in speed and I am waiting for the problem to resurface! I have Micro soft spyblocker and fire wall as well as Symantec corporate antivirus and spybot! they all seem to work together fine at this point in time!
