USB not properly recognized

After wiping the Hard Drive and reloading Windows. I can't seem to get the USB's to work properly. Windows keeps finding new Hardware titled " USB Transceiver " But cannot find any drivers for it.

Dimension 2400
XPsp2
Everything else seems to be running fine

I have loaded all the drivers off the Dell supplied CD.

Anybody ?

Did you install the chipset drivers as the first device drivers installed after reinstalling Windows?  Without the chipset drivers, there are many devices that will not be recognized and Windows will have a hard time installing drivers for these devices.

Yes, all the drivers were loaded off the supplied CD from Dell.

I wonder if the order mattered ? Shouldn't have.

The chipset drivers should be the first thing loaded, after installing the Operating System.

So you mean I have to wipe again and reload.

Wow that "inhales rapidly"

Okay were's a Dell rep when you need one, and somebody pass me my soapbox.

Cause they should order them that way on the CD.  I just started at the top and worked through them.

Off the soapbox

The "Hardware Drivers" installation sequence is listed in the Dimension 2400 XP reinstallation procedures.

Well, nope didn't work. Still have the same missing driver from the first message.

Anybody else ? Missing " USB Transceiver " Driver. I thought this driver had to do with Bluetooth technology ?

Anybody ?

Perhaps if you told us what other devices you have attached to your computer someone could help you.  Do you have a wireless keyboard?  Did you add any devices?  What devices are attached to your USB ports?
