Very annoying, apparently random problem.
About every 4-5 times I boot up my computer, I get an unusual error message. After the boot part in the begining(before Windows98 starts to load, when it says press delete to enter setup), when Windows98 should boot up, the screen stays blank. After about a minute or two, it will say in the top left corner of my screen that "The operating system is not found." The thing I find the most unusual is when I then turn my computer off, then back on, it boots Windows98 normally. I have done several things in an attempt to fix this, but to no avail. Does anyone have any idea what my problem is and how I can fix it?

I actually have exacly the same problem. Except for me, it always says that. Dell already replaced my hard drive (this did not help) and now they are sending me a new motherboard (coming in tomorrow or Friday). I hope this fixes the problem, it's a real pain in the @$$.
