Wallpaper defaults to NONE

Question

After I awake my system from being in a sleep mode, the desktop wallpaper always goes blank. I don't use screensaver and I have monitor turnoff set at 5mins and hard drive at 20mins. Windows 98. If I reboot, it will be back to what I wanted. Help!

Standby or sleep mode does not work well on desktops. Go to power management in control panel and set your schemes to 'always on,' and 'never.' Monitor and hard drive are your choice. LawrenceH

Those settings are and have been as you stated. Maybe I should call it 'Hibernate' instead of Sleep mode. It comes out of it fine but the wallpaper has changed to nothing at all instead of the selected one which is one of Windows' products. Same with other wallpaper as not only the case with one.

Run sfc and see if wallpapr.htm is OK. Try uninstalling and reinstalling your wallpaper. Is your active desktop working properly? Try turning it off. If these areas are not the cause, I hope someone else knows how to fix this.

Does your wallpaper return if you refresh the desktop? Right click on an empty area of the desktop and select refresh from the menu. ~cr~
