from the device manager I was able to find the following information:
"device - type Display adapters
maker - ATI Technologies Inc.
location - PCI Slot 10 (PCI bus 1, device 0, function 0)
Radeon X300/X550/X1050 series"

Now I dont know if it is a AGP, PCI, PCIe, DVI...etc..etc.. is there any way to find out this information without taking it a part?????

What is "back sound"?? You then talk about a Video Card.. What do you want to upgrade?

FYI- You can upgrade with a PCI-e x16 video card, and rule of thumb would be one that requires a PSU of approx 400W or less.

'back sound'  is the back audio port on my dimension. I have a front access panel with microphone and headphone and I have a rear access panel which has a lot more audio options.. My rear panel when I plug in my speakers, headphones, etc.., does not worl but my front panel audio does...  I have an ATI Radeon video/sound card with 128MB ram and would like to upgrade to one with 256MB on it.. and I just wanted to know what connection it was and I found out already that its a PCIe x16 or whatever.

It is very simple to connect the back access panel into working order, just read the manual and look at the sketch in the manual where it read the names for each one internal connection on the motherboard. Page thru the Dell Support and download the txt file called Quick User's Guide. The front panel connectors named JFP2 is on the motherboard and its case have the wires that goes in between the front of the case and the motherboard so it runs the light emitting diodes. Also another spot called JAUDIO1 is the set of the gold pins for front panel audio connector. Some motherboard have extra called JAUDIO2  and it will explain it in the chapter Hardware setup. You may try to disconnect the JAUDIO1 so that front access plugs is discontinue to use and plus switching the jumper and set them jumpers to the right place in order for the back sound and back access control ports in maximum blast of music including video and volume control.
