WARNING!
Do not upgrade your Dell Dimension to Windows 2000 without insuring that you have every driver you need.
Dell supplies a ton of info and drivers for nearly everything. One exception was the Aztech MPD 3900 modem.
The drivers they provide do not work. When I talked to support they voided my warranty for installing Windows 2000! They told me that the modem could not work under Windows 2000 and sent me packing.
Dell Support in one fell swoop completely turned around a long time supporter. I have 8 computers, four are/were Dells.
Worse, they lied, I went to Microsoft's Site and the modem is certified! I hate being lied to!
Good news is the driver can be downloaded from Microsoft. So I guess the worst thing is that Dell has lost a customer, but more than that I recommend several million dollars worth of server, client and storage systems every year, and I will think twice before making Dell my prefered vendor.
Heck, I sold the first PowerVault a couple years ago! Never recommend Dell again. All three of my Latitude laptops have had to have their mainboards replaced this past year.
