There is nothing wrong, CD drives park  or slow down when the "now playing" track is cached into memory, it is behaving as expected. Some drives are louder than others, I know the drive on my 9100 is loud by my standards, but not overly annoying, just noticable.

It does sound normal for the "high speed" OEM drives.  But, you may want to post your question on the CD/DVD section - the place for issues such as yours.  Although it's about the sounds from the drive it is not an "Audio section" issue.

There have been some issues with the mouting of some drives, you could check to make sure the dirve is secure in the mounting.  A "loose" drive can also be noisy.
