Windows Explorer problem with images

I am having the same problems with a bit more added. My windows explorer will give me the same problem window, shut down, reload and everything works. It does this every other time I click on My Docs, or anything in the right column. I must have sent 50 reports to MS by now. My system is a dimension 4400, XP Home--all the gadgets and gizmoes. This problem is quite frustrating to say the least.

I have fixed the specific problem I was having, which dealt with errors when browsing/viewing image files in windows explorer. It sounds like your problem may be a little different though. Anyway, after much research I have found that with XP you cannot assign image file types to open in Adobe Photoshop - this will corrupt windows explorer. I ended up doing a system restore back to day one because even after uninstalling photoshop the problem still existed. I then reinstalled photoshop, but this time when it came to the point during the install where it asks you which file types to assign to photoshop, I selected NONE. I have had no more problems with explorer.
