X800 pro problem with 4600

Hello

I installed a X800 pro on Dimension 4600 AGP slot after formatting the computer to make sure Nvidia drivers are gone (Graphic card was FX5200) then i installed ATI Catalyst 5.7 with control center and every thing was fine until i restarted the computer the colours from the start of the boot became yellowish green and stayed like that in windows too, but this thing happens randomly and sometimes colors are normal. Also sometimes games that need alot of graphics crash after 10 min as medal of honor pacfic assult . Does anyone know how to fix this problem ?

Thanks in advance

PhoeniXst If you used the Driver CATALYST Control Center Download size 33.6 mb with Microsoft .NET Framework. You might want to try the one with just the Control Panel Download size 25.1 mb.

After you reformatted, did you install the Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility? If you did not it is located here. Click the link

Htt Good HT Bad.The strange colors appear at both the dell loading screen, windows loading screen and keeps that way also in the windows itself.

Rick000, i will try Control Panel Download size 25.1 mb but do you think it will fix it, since the strange colors appear before any of the drivers and window load (:smileywink:Correct me if i m wrong about the drivers not loading at the dell screen).

Intel chipset is updated to latest (A13) before installing ATI catalyst 5.7 (33.6MB)

(i will try to take an image of the strange colors and post it)

your card may be bad if colors show up a dell splash screen

I am not sure if using the control panel download will fix the problem. I had issues with the Control Center when I used it. You could try it but no guarantees. On my machine when I installed the Control Center with .NET Frame Work the DeskTop would show but my mouse or nothing else would work. I would have to turn the machine off by pressing the power button down. Did not know what was wrong so I Reinstalled Windows XP.  Installed .NET Framework first Tried the Control Center again and same problem. So that is why I just use the Control Panel Download.

Rick000 , your right, it fixed the problem when retesting in smartgart then restarting, after the restart you cannot move anything ;however,it didn't fix the color issue so i should return the card for another one , becuase it seems a bad one as HTT good HT bad suggested.

Thanks alot both of you
