XPS 700 Question

Question

Hi there,   i am planning on buying a edited XPS 700 but it doesnt say anything about an internet card, only a modem (wich i dont need) so my question is, does the XPS 700 have a build in internet card when i order it?   thanks in advance

You might want to read up on this computer. It is not what is advertised. I would consider waiting a few months to see what the XPS 710 system looks like. The 700 will be a dead system in 4 months.

there is a network card in your computer. You should read the delay threads at the top of the forum. If you read delay #9 you might find enough info on the xps 700.

Actually your pretty wrong about us liking the XPS 700. I like mine, but is it what was advertised and what I thought I was getting? NO!

Those are the issues that have been presented and ignored so far by Dell. Folks like you who just "let them get away with it" enabled them to continue doing it.

It's your right and your choice of course.

For the OP. The XPS 700 will soon be replaced by the XPS 710 and shortly there after the XPS 800. If you can afford it, it's a great PC that does some nice things, but just don't rely on Dell's advertising to make you settle.

Not everbody hates the 700, but those that do are very vocal. When there were big problems with delays the delay thread was useful in keeping track of what was going on, but it has almost as much disinformation (my opinion) and speculation as it does information.

I have had the computer for about two months now and love it. It has been trouble free and has done everything I have asked of it. I admit I am not an extreme gamer, but I am a heavy video user and even have two monitors hooked up and working. I am not saying that all those who lurk the "delayed thread" are haters. I spent a good part of three months of my life in that thread. You can evaluate your own feelings and decide if you belong in that obvious over generalization, but for those few that spend so much time talking it down, "hater" is as good a description as any other. The guy just wanted to get an answer to a simple question and he was instantly bombarded with negative/less then positive messages about the "how bad the 700 is."

You can wait until they come out with the 710 or the 800, but as soon as you get ready to order one of them, somebody will point out that if you wait a little longer the 810 will be better. At some point you just need to pull the trigger and get a new computer. Unless you plan to upgrade every 6 months, there will always be a better computer coming out. "Folks like me" may just be settling, but I bet we have more fun with our computer then "Folks like you"

WOW!! So I guess you are refering to me as a Dell hater? Maybe you should read some of my posts before you WAY overgeneralize. I have been a huge Dell supporter, but similar to Bub, I do not want to let Dell get away with false advertisement. I want to help Dell become a better company by pointing out their mistakes and suggesting possible Win/Win scenarios. I merely pointed out to the potential buyer that there are alot is misleading advertisements that have not yet been addressed. There have been quite a few people new to the forum lately that just purchased the XPS700 and said they wished they had seen the forum first. It is always better to be informed when making a purchase. IF the XPS710 has a full supported chipset, it would be well worth it to wait a couple of month for alot of potential purchasers. I didn't tell him to go to another company or build his own. I recommended doing a little reading and consider waiting. Does that make me a Dell hater?

I never said that you hated Dell.  My reference was to your lack of enthusaim for the 700. My only real issue with your orginal post is that you didn't even try to address the orginal question.
