In my opinion if I was to spend that much on a computer then I would just get one fr Alienware. It would cost me around 6 grand but it would come with a AMD fx 57 and would be watercooled (I customized the Dell and it came out to 5 grand). Since I dont have that much money in the first place I'll just stick with my D4400.

How can you live with a 20 gig hard drive!? I have an 80 gig and I already have 50 gigs used! Unless your using an external one then that would make since but if not........wow.

those benchmarks didn't go dells way lol, beaten in everything ... but alteast they are offering something for gamers that can compete with other gaming motherboards
SR45 -- So its not the size, but what you do with it, right? Just kidding...seriously, though, what's this talk about a Gen 6 (!!!) already? Right as the Gen 4's were coming out I got a Gen 3 for a great price. Now we're already up to a Gen 6? It hasn't even been a year!

But I agree with SR45's earlier comment about the Xbox360 and getting one of those for $299 or $399 or whatever and being able to play PC quality games. Will probably do the same as with the first Xbox -- had a year old computer, got the Xbox in 2001, hardly touched a PC again for games until 2004.

I know, I know, its small, but I save everything I do not use to a disk, such as photos, music, games, documents, etc.
Dont buy an XPS, its great when its running but if you have a problem watch our. The XPS Tech support/customer serviceis a sham, an absloute waste of time. Have had nothing but trouble with these people. Skip it if you can!
If that is not bad enough
AZtoSD, the Lexus generation from Dell has yet to emerge and is due out sometime at the end of this year if not a little before, and who knows what that will bring. I've given up on the never ending upgrade path in systems and video cards. I'll keep my D4400 working as long as I can and get that X-Box 360 or even the PS3 and never have to worry about video cards, game settings, newer cpu's, and the list goes on. I guess, I got to the point where consoles are now better for the limited amount of games I play and not have to spend so much money on just games from a computer. Each their own.
If it weren't for my love of honest-to-goodness, intricate, keyboard-requiring strategy type games...I'd have ditched my PC (for games) when the last generation of consoles came out. SR45 you are so right--no need for adjusting settings, having the latest hardware, etc. even the latest and greatest games on the PC come out just a few weeks or months after on the consoles (and some not even on the PC)...and look at Doom3, CoD, MoH, and HL2 coming on the consoles. Heck, even HALO ended up on the PC. Even Xbox Live takes away much of the multiplayer advantage PCs had.
I'm still going to have a PC, and one to play the latest games (or at least run them adequately)...but I can afford to. The real money (read: profit) is in the consoles which are more appropriately priced for everyone. I hope PC gaming doesn't take a back seat to consoles (IMO, it hasn't yet), but in the great Price vs. Value debate, the next generation might be the one that does it.
