XPS Memory Upgrade Question

Question

My XPS 720 currently has 2 GB Corsair Dominator RAM PC6400, 800mhz OC'd to 1066mhz. I want buy another 1 GB stick of the same, but have found this to be a really confusing issue. There doesn't seem to be anywhere on Earth to get it, unless you buy a new XPS 720. I suppose I could get the PC8500 of the Dominator, but it runs at 1066mhz without OCing. The difference is PC6400 (currently installed) vs PC8500, and I'm worried there will be a conflict that will limit me to running at 800mhz. Can you OC with EPP on one set while the other runs at rated? Will PC8500 even work on the 720?

Im a bit confused if its overclocked from factory wouldnt it be already the 8500 dom memory and not the 6400?r u sure its 6400  in there? and let me understand, u want to upgrade just another 1 gig meaning 2 512 sticks? right Or r u overclocking it urself? just to clarify

The Amazon link appears to be the right stick, but 2GB. I just want to buy 1GB for a total of 3GB in the rig. (I'm running 32 bit XP and don't want to pay for memory that won't be utilized.) For Steve89, to clarify: The ram that came with my 720 is definitely PC6400. Crucial scan detects it as such and so does Cpuz. It was advertised, when I bought the computer from Dell, as 800mhz, factory overclocked to 1066mhz. All that really means, I think, is that with EPP enabled it automatically boosts it to the higher speed. The computer came with 2GB (Corsair Dominator PC6400) and I want to add a pair of 512MB of the same thing, for a total of 3GB. I'm not doing anything manually to overclock the RAM, other than leaving EPP on. Frankly, I don't know enough about overclocking to be comfortable with tweaking stuff.

Oh ok gotcha, I guess before i got my new memory i thought i read someone say they took it out and it was maked pc2 8500 dom memory.I understand now the amount you want and for what reason to.The 6400 was so cheap im evan thinking of getting another 2gigs just so id have enough to go to vista 64 later on.
