With the A06 bios the 45nm duo's will work and some of the quads but not all and it depends on the version of your motherboard.

The best that Dell ever offered with it was the QX6850. That's probably the best you can put in it. The latest BIOS update from April doesn't specify whether you can put in the new 45nM quad cores.

With the Q9450 it appears that it will only work well on motherboards with version A01.
