0F00:1332 error code on laptop

Hi i have a dell is a XPS 15 (L501x) and i recently installed Win 8 last weekend.

All was working fine including this morning when i was playing a PC game called Guild wars 2 on it. My wife then used the laptop an hour later while i was at work and the laptop no longer boots into the win 8 OS at all.

It instead boots into a blank screen thats it. i see the BIOS prompt appear with the delo logo but after that nothing.

Further to my tests i thougth it was a win 8 issue so i decided to attach my bootable win 8 is USB stick to re install it again and guess what, a blank screen again. i tried recreating the ISO image on my usb stick with win 8 and still had the issue.

i thought maybe win 8 is screwed and doesnt work so i tried reinstalling windows 7. Same  sort of story but this time i manage to go into the iwn 7 setup screen where it asks you to select the drive u wish to install and after selecting and attempting to reformat the hdd. it failed with a unkown error message on the win 7 setup.

i then rebooted the laptop and this time booted up via the Dell diagnostic tool and here is what i got from my suspicous believe that the hdd is screwed:

Error message pops up:

Error Code 0F00:1332
Msg: DISK = Block 2099920: Interupt Request{IRG} did not set in time

The given error code and message can be used by Techincal support to help diagnose the problem.

Do you want to continue testing?

Yes No Retry

Does this assume that the hdd is gone?

I am getting this too - a friends computers - 6 blocks so far on the test.  Can it be anything other than the hard drive?  Windows 7

Hi, I have a Dell Inspiron 15 windows 7.

I cannot start windows normally and when I ran the Dell diagnostic tool I got the same error message as above. That's,  error code 0F00: 1332 etc.

When I start windows normally I get this message:

"A disk read error occurred

Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to re Recovery

But the system returns to the same message again and again.

I have tried different things but none has worked so  far. I've read from other online forums. Windows startup disk is not working. And I don't have a recovery disk. Well, not really.... but the repair disk and recovery disk I made from outset aren't working either. And I couldn't backup files before this meltdown. Lol.

Any suggestions and help are welcome please.

The error refers to bad blocks on the hard drive, which means the drive needs to be replaced.

If you need to rescue data from the drive, remove the hard drive and mount it into a 2.5" USB external case.  Attach it to a working system and copy your data files.

Once the drive is replaced, the recovery media should allow you to recover the system to factory condition.  You'll need a new, 2.5" 9.5 mm or slimmer SATA notebook drive.

Thanks for the suggestion. But I'm yet to try them.

Removing the hard drive from the Dell Inspiron 15 N5010 will prove a major challenge because of how it's deeply embeded. Wating for USB external to arrive.

Will get back with feedback.

Thanks

Hi, Dell Inspiron 15R Windows 7

I finally managed to change the hard drive and get the system working on the new hard drive.

I have removed the old hard drive and mounted it in a 2.5" USB external case. Then I connected to the working system; it recognises the hard drive but doesn't open the folder so I can access and copy my files. I've tried copying files directly without opening folder and it won't work either.

I have been browsing the internet and watching videos on YouTube. It seems to me the hard drive may be severely damaged.

Any suggestions what else I could do to copy the files. I know I may have to open the hard drive itself to try to readjust, but wants to avoid that if I could.

Help needed to save my documents.

Thanks
