1720 video issues

Hi, just got my 1720 recently with the nvidia 8600M GT. I've been having problems playing games. During the middle of play at random times the screen will freeze up and start to flicker. Sometimes it will lock up completely sometimes it will recover. When it recovers I get an error saying "Display adapter has stopped responding and has recovered". I've tried updating my video drivers with the latest available on the dell site but nothing seems to work. Any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated. Its driving me nuts!

I'm having the same problem now  with same graphics card. Inspiron 1720 , nvidia geforce 8600M GT, but different, it has happened without being playing aything. Without any reason, the screen starts to flicker just a bit , and that's it, the system locks up completely. I think it tries to recover, but without success, I have to shut it down pressing the button, and then it starts normally. I'm using windows XP pro, 32 bits.

Anyone did solve this problem?

thank yo so much.
